The newly completed Alex and Faye Spanos Faith and Heritage Center will allow for an expansion of programs and activities at Saint Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in Dunlap, California. The center is a realization of the late Metropolitan Anthony’s vision of St. Nicholas Ranch as a place that supports faith and Hellenic heritage.
“This facility is as much a tribute to Metropolitan Anthony, of blessed memory, as it is to the Spanos Family and their abundance of generosity and kindness they have always demonstrated to the Metropolis,” said His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco.
The center features a Metropolitan Anthony Gallery with liturgical items, vestments, and icons from his estate, as well as a Saint Photini Chapel for prayer and worship.
The rest of the nearly 7,000 square foot building contains administrative offices, a library, infirmary, gift shop, conference room, and fireside room.
In addition to the contributions of the Spanos family, the Metropolis of San Fransciso Philoptochos donated a meeting room and library, and the Elios Charitable Foundation donated a room for Folk Dance and Choral Festival archives and materials.
