Artwalk @ Liberty Station celebrates art and music at a lively outdoor festival on August 13 and 14 in Point Loma. Over 200 San Diego artists will display their work in Liberty Station’s Arts District – locally made jewelry, pottery, painting, photography, textiles, and woodworking. It’s a chance to meet with the artists to learn about their inspiration and processes, too.
One of the festival’s highlights is the Interactive Zedist Mural Project. Described as an “oversized paint by numbers,” it will combine the efforts of a professional artist and festival attendees. The mural is a large canvas that an artist has prepared with pre-drawn geometric shapes and assigned colors, which the public will have the chance to fill in at the event. The end result will be a massive mural of bright shapes and colors.
The event will also feature street food, live music, and a wine and beer pavilion. Kidswalk will have interactive art activities for families. Admission is free.
