The Archimedes Award is a scholarship for graduating high school seniors of Hellenic heritage who plan to study STEM subjects in college during the 2016-2017 school year. Leon Stavrou, the Executive Director of the Next Generation Initiative, has provided information about this scholarship opportunity.

The Archimedes Award was founded by Dr. Andrew Economos. In 1979, Dr. Economos created Radio Computing Services, now known as RCS, the world’s largest broadcast computer software company. Called “the Steve Jobs of radio broadcasting,” Dr. Economos launched the first software to schedule music at radio stations throughout the world.
